RE-ELECT
MORTON
BLACKWELL
RNC NATIONAL
COMMITTEEMAN
A PERSONAL NOTE FROM
MORTON BLACKWELL
Our nation is at a dangerous crossroads. The radical left has captured the Democrat party. They hope to use the powers of government to create a one-party state. Grassroots Republican leaders must rise to the occasion and fight back through the political process. As your Republican National Committeeman, my commitment to championing the principles we hold dear never wavers.
A conservative Republican all my adult life, I was Barry Goldwater’s youngest elected Delegate at the 1964 Republican National Convention. For five and a half years, off and on, I served as Executive Director of the College Republican National Committee. I planned and oversaw Ronald Reagan’s 1980 national youth effort and served (1981-84) on President Reagan’s White House Staff as a Special Assistant to the President.
My late wife, Helen, and I married and moved to Arlington in 1972. I still live in our original house there.
I strongly help Virginia Republican candidates financially and in other ways.
My tenure as a representative for you on the RNC has been marked by unyielding support for conservative principles and vigorous recruitment and training of grassroots conservatives to become activists and leaders in our Party. My efforts produce tangible results. I have led the charge in training thousands of grassroots conservatives throughout the Commonwealth and across the nation, empowering them with the tools and knowledge needed to champion our cause effectively. Since 1979, my education foundation in Arlington, the Leadership Institute (LI), has trained more than 290,000 students, including more than 11,500 Virginians. From them, a new generation of leaders is growing and ready to advance conservative principles. My Leadership Institute is in its period of greatest growth ever. In 2023, LI trained more than 31,000 students, a 107% increase over 2022. Its annual revenue is growing rapidly: 2020 $23 million 2021 $30 million 2022 $39 million 2023 $42 million My tenure at the RNC has focused on its political training programs and on the national Rules of the Republican Party. I work to make sure that, to the extent possible, some power in the Party flows from the bottom up, rather than only from the top down. Large numbers of Virginia Republican leaders and activists have endorsed me for reelection as your National Committeeman, including Lieutenant Governor Winsome Earle-Sears and Attorney General Jason Miyares. Both are graduates of my training. Now I stand at a crucial juncture, seeking your support to continue my valuable work. I am personally reaching out to ask you to stand with me by attending the 2024 Republican Party of Virginia Convention as a delegate and casting your vote in my favor. Your participation and vote are not just a testament to our shared conservative principles but a crucial step in securing a future where those principles are preserved and flourish. Together, we can continue to make a difference, shaping the direction of our Party and our nation. I am deeply grateful for your consideration and hope to have your support. Let us move forward, united in our cause and confident in our pursuit of a brighter, more conservative future. Thank you for your commitment to our Party and our principles. Let's make our voices heard at the 2024 Republican Party of Virginia Convention. Cordially, Morton Blackwell
